With its Tawny Owl design, this vintage coal scuttle provides a particularly unique feature piece at home.
Once thoroughly cleaned, two coats of appropriate primer are applied leaving a fresh and charmingly well-lived surface ready for painting my birds in acrylic. The same level of detail goes into each painting as if on canvas and the size of the urn allows much scope to expand the design. Two coats of varnish form the protective layers and really bring out the colours.
