Lapwings Original Acrylic

Framed size 9" x 21", with non reflective glass.  I have painted these Lapwings, otherwise know as Peewits, and thought that they would look good with the Ringed Plovers painting.  In fact, someone at Birdfair thought the same and bought both!.  The pair would stand out so well on the same wall or either side of an appropriate feature. SOLD at the Suffolk Show.

Also known as the peewit in imitation of its display calls, its proper name describes its wavering flight. Its black and white appearance and round-winged shape in flight make it distinctive, even without its splendid crest.  Read more.....RSPB Lapwings

The painting is on Cold Press, extra heavy, off white Crescent art board and I aim to produce the finest detail in both the subject and its natural setting.  The shade of the Daler mountboard is carefully selected depending on the painting, as is the toning of the frame itself.
