Framed size 18" x 12", with non reflective glass. I have wanted to paint a wood pile for a while and this preening male kestrel was the perfect choice to add some colour contrast. I have named my painting after the 1969 film "Kes" which was about a young boy caring for and training his falcon. SOLD
The painting is on Cold Press, extra heavy, off white Crescent art board and I aim to produce the finest detail in both the subject and its natural setting. The shade of the Daler mountboard is carefully selected depending on the painting, as is the toning of the frame itself.
Kestrels are a familiar sight with their pointed wings and long tail, hovering beside a roadside verge. Read more.....RSPB Kestrel
