Framed size 18" x 12", with non reflective glass.  Our ever popular robin sits on this old gate with its rusty hinges, peeling paint and draped with rope.  The hanging twine adds a striking contrast in colour to this painting, I think.  My title seems so apt for this independent little fellow. The red breast of adult Robins is instantly recognisable, making this species one of the most straightforward to identify. Juvenile Robins lack the red breast and have brown upper parts and breast speckled with dark brown.  Read more.....BTO Robin

The painting is on Cold Press, extra heavy, off white Crescent art board and I aim to produce the finest detail in both the subject and its natural setting.  The shade of the Daler mountboard is carefully selected depending on the painting, as is the toning of the frame itself.
