Greenfinches Original Acrylic

Framed Size 18" x 12, with non reflective glass.   My first painting of greenfinches.  SOLD at Birdfair 2019.

Their twittering, wheezing song and flash of yellow and green as they fly, make these finches  truly colourful characters. Nesting in a garden conifer, or feasting on black sunflower seeds, the greenfinches are regular garden visitors, able to take advantage of food in rural and urban gardens. The painting is on Cold Press, extra heavy, off white Crescent art board and I aim to produce the finest detail in both the subject and its natural setting.  The shade of the Daler mountboard is carefully selected depending on the painting, as is the toning of the frame itself.
