Framed Size 16"x 12", with non reflective glass. Willow, aptly named as he sits in a willow tree, was a commission for a dear friend who wanted a companion for the original " Hector " Tawny Owl. They now sit facing each other across her dining room table. A most handsome pair!
The painting is on Cold Press, extra heavy, off white Crescent art board and I aim to produce the finest detail in both the subject and its natural setting. The shade of the Daler mountboard is carefully selected depending on the painting, as is the toning of the frame itself.
Tawny Owls in the UK are mainly reddish brown above and paler underneath. The birds are mainly residents with established pairs probably never leaving their territories. Read more.....RSPB Tawny Owl
