Framed size 18" x 12", with non reflective glass.    I always strive to stretch boundaries with my art. The most distinct change was some five years ago when I moved to painting in acrylics, followed later by using a colour block background.  I chose the fieldfare in this setting as I liked the challenge of painting the apples with those water droplets, as much as the bird.  SOLD at Brett Gallery, Monks Eleigh.  I was so pleased, that it was bought within days of hanging.

Fieldfares are large, colourful thrushes, much like a mistle thrush in general size, shape and behaviour.  Read more.....RSPB Fieldfare 

The painting is on Cold Press, extra heavy, off white Crescent art board and I aim to produce the finest detail in both the subject and its natural setting.  The shade of the Daler mountboard is carefully selected depending on the painting, as is the toning of the frame itself.
