Framed Size 18" x 12", with non reflective glass. I offer no excuse for another Nuthatch painting, this time this cheeky pair.
Nuthatches are plump birds about the size of great tits, resembling small woodpeckers. They are blue-grey above and whitish below, with chestnut on their sides and under their tails. They have a black stripe on their heads with a long black pointed bill and short legs. They breed throughout England and Wales and have recently begun breeding in southern Scotland. They are residents, with birds seldom travelling far from the woods where they hatch. SOLD Privately.
The painting is on Cold Press, extra heavy, off white Crescent art board and I aim to produce the finest detail in both the subject and its natural setting. The shade of the Daler mountboard is carefully selected depending on the painting, as is the toning of the frame itself.
